Osteria Alla Romana isn't just a restaurant—it's a lifelong dream brought to life. Our owner and chef, Cris DiCristo, grew up just a few blocks from the Colosseum in the eternal city of Rome, Italy. Surrounded by the sights, sounds, and incredible flavors of authentic Roman cuisine, Cris always knew he wanted to share this rich culinary heritage with the world.
In 2016, that dream became reality when Cris opened Osteria Alla Romana in Lancaster, Ohio. He brought with him not just recipes, but memories—the taste of his mother's homemade pasta, the aroma of fresh herbs from local markets, and the warmth of family meals that stretched late into the evening.
Every morning, Cris arrives early to prepare fresh pasta by hand, chop vegetables, and simmer sauces using techniques passed down through his family. He insists on using only the finest ingredients—many imported directly from Italy—because authenticity cannot be compromised.
What makes Osteria Alla Romana truly special is Cris himself. As the sole chef, server, and host, he ensures that every guest receives personal attention. He remembers regular customers' favorite dishes, makes recommendations based on the season's best ingredients, and often comes out from the kitchen to share stories about the origins of each recipe.
